"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Women's Ministry

Mission Statement
The Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church exists to lead women to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, to encourage women to discover their God-given gifts, and to equip women to enrich the lives of other women through Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Matthew 22:37 - "Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."

Our Women’s Enrichment Ministry, which is open to all who wish to participate, includes:

Discipleship and Spiritual Growth Classes
A variety of studies are offered for ladies, including some that are designed solely for women’s groups. Studies often include courses by Beth Moore and Women of Faith. Classes typically meet on Wednesday or Sunday evenings. The courses are conducted as a part of our F.E.E.D. curriculum (Family, Equipping, Evangelism, and Discipleship series) of classes, which features spring and fall semesters, as well as "mini-term" classes.

Women’s Retreat
This retreat, typically help each spring, provides women with an opportunity to get away together for a time of study, growth and fellowship. A featured study and/or speaker provides the theme with ample time afforded to just enjoy each other’s company.

Women's Conferences
The Women's Ministry plans and hosts seminars and workshops at FBC, as well as participates in area or regional Women's Conferences. Topics and offerings vary, depending on the event.

The Women's Enrichment Ministry sponsors a number of other events, ministires, and activities throughout the year, offering ample opportunities to get together for fellowship, worship, ministry, and personal growth.

Women On Missions
Our Women on Missions group meets on the first Monday of each month to share a mission study and luncheon together. Guest speakers often lead the discussion and study times. The meetings typically begin at 10:30 a.m. with lunch following the meeting. The group meets in the Fellowship Hall.

Women's
Ministry
We have a variety of adult and family ministries in which our members may participate as we seek to serve and help meet needs within our community, and beyond while looking to share the love of Christ with others.

Family Enrichment
Families are important at First Baptist. We offer a continuing variety of courses on parenting and marriage enrichment, and other aspects of building and maintaining strong families. Annual marriage enrichment retreats offer a time for husbands and wives to get away with other adults while learning to apply sound biblical principles of marital growth.
Homebound Ministry
Members of our Homebound Ministry group make regular visits to persons who must stay at home or who are in nursing homes due to health issues. These visits offer a time for visiting, sharing and Bible study together that is rewarding to both the person being visited, as well as the visitor.
Men's Ministry

Mission Statement of Baptist Men:
To seek God’s guidance and to build relationships with the men of First Baptist Church of Terrell, Texas.

Baptist Men’s Breakfast/Ministry Projects
Our men meet in the ROC Dining Room on the first Sunday morning of each month at 7:45 a.m. for a time of growth and fellowship over breakfast. A guest speaker brings a program to challenge our men toward personal growth and involvement in missions. There is no charge for the breakfast. Periodic mission-action projects are planned through these meetings as well.

Men’s Small Group
One group meets on Friday mornings at 6:15 a.m. adjacent to the Fellowship Hall on the Main Campus. The group shares in a time of prayer, accountability and discussion through book and Bible studies designed to strengthen their walk in roles as Christian husbands, fathers, and men.
Our Monday Night Men's group meets in the Dining Room of the ROC at 7 p.m. to share in a time of study, dialogue, and fellowship.  Emphasis is upon helping men be the spiritual leaders of their families.
Recreation Ministry
Our Recreation Outreach Center (ROC), serves as the base for our Recreation Ministry.  This expanding aspect of our church ministry offers times of recreation, fellowship, and exercise in a Christian environment.  The ROC is located at 100 W. Brin Street.

FBC Walking Club
Our walking club meets daily in the gym of the Recreation Outreach Center (ROC) on Monday through Friday mornings, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.  Walkers come at their leisure during this time to "count their laps" in the air conditioned and heated comfort. Our rubberized gym floor provides a cushioned walking surface that is easy on the hips and legs.

The walking club is open to the entire community. There are no costs for the club. The club is a community ministry of First Baptist Church.

Volleyball & Softball
FBC fields teams in area church volleyball and softball leagues in season. Volleyball typically plays a season in the spring and fall. Softball league play occurs during the late spring and summer.
Senior Adult Ministry (SAM)
SAM offers a variety of activities and events for senior adults.

SAM Game Days
Monthly SAM game days in the ROC Dining Room are held on the second Thursday of each month beginning at 11:30 a.m. These provide a time of fun and fellowship for senior adults and their guests.

SAM Luncheons
Luncheons are held on the fourth Sunday of each calendar quarter (Jan/April/July/Oct). A featured speaker brings a program and lunch is served as attendees gather for a time of food, fellowship and fun. SAM luncheons are held in the Fellowship Hall.

SAM Events
Monthly special events provide an opportunity for seniors to get away to some type of activity in a group setting. Events feature travel trips to destinations both near and far. For more information on upcoming SAM events, see "Events" then "Senior Adults" on the web site.
